Value Definition
Core A cylindrical section of unprocessed material, up to several meters in length, taken by a core bit and brought to the surface for examination and/or analysis.
Cutting Any washed or unwashed material cut by a bit in the process of well drilling and removed from the hole in the drilling mud.
Fluid Water or oil samples from seeps or well drilling.
Outcrop Samples originating from exposed rock at the surface.
Residue Remaining material after laboratory analysis or sampling.
Sidewall Core or rock sample extracted from the wall of a drill hole.
