Online_Linkage: https://doi.org/10.14509/31457 Description: Abstract: 2019 Arctic strategic transportation and resources (ASTAR) project field station data and descriptions: Inigok airstrip and Teshekpuk Lake region, North Slope, Alaska, Raw Data File 2025-3, presents the July 2019 fieldwork results from approximately 10,000 kmò (3,861 miò) in northern Alaska, encompassing the Teshekpuk Lake, Harrison Bay, Ikpikpuk River, and Umiat quadrangles. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (AKDOT&PF) and the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) deployed field crews to assess resources from the Colville River to the Ikpikpuk River and from the Price River to the Beaufort Sea coast. This report provides locations and descriptions of field data for 49 sites with power-auger holes and surface exposures, strategically chosen to offer a comprehensive understanding of the region's geological composition, crucial for resource assessment. Additionally, logs for nine test hole sites are included. This work supports the sand and gravel resource assessment for the Arctic Strategic Transportation and Resources (ASTAR) project. These data and report are available from the DGGS website: http://doi.org/10.14509/31457. Purpose: The Arctic Strategic Transportation and Resources (ASTAR) project is a collaborative effort initiated by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in partnership with the North Slope Borough to identify, evaluate, and advance opportunities to enhance the quality of life and economic opportunities in North Slope communities through responsible infrastructure development. The ASTAR team worked with communities and regional stakeholders to identify which projects and project areas may benefit the region most by prioritizing community and cultural connectivity, regional support, reduced cost of living, increased safety, and responsible infrastructure development. Construction-grade sand and gravel materials are lacking in the studied region. Our detailed sedimentological descriptions and test hole data are essential to understand better surface-material resources' quality, quantity, and distribution. In areas where surface materials were not exposed, we utilized a Tanaka Power Auger. AKDOT&PF field sites utilized a helicopter-supported drill rig to make subsurface observations.
