These compilations were done on a one-to-one scale, stable Mylar of the USGS topographic base for the 1:63,360 scale USGS topographic bases included in the map area. Field data were assimilated with regional geologic mapping and prior DGGS detailed mapping of the Makushin geothermal areas. Map unit delineations and stratigraphic interpretations were supported by whole-rock major-oxide and trace-element geochemistry, as well as 40Ar/39Ar and radiocarbon geochronology.
