Abstract

Glaciers have sculpted some of the most spectacular landscapes on Earth and have played a central role in the tectonic development of many mountainous regions. One such region is the St. Elias Range in southern Alaska, where the extreme relief reflects exceptionally rapid crustal convergence and uplift, combined with erosion by the largest temperate glaciers worldwide.
