Alaska is a beautiful, diverse, and geologically active state. Many premier examples of fundamental geologic processes are visible from its roads and rails, such as volcanoes, rock outcrops, permafrost, glaciers, and landscapes changes due to climate change. Keep your eyes open for moose on the roads and stunning geology along their sides. DGGS' series of guidebooks will help provide context for what you see.

DGGS Guidebooks

This DGGS series of publications includes "field trip" guides that contain general and technical information to help visitors understand the geologic conditions they observe along some of the major transportation corridors of Alaska.
