Simone Montayne
Simone is a Geologic Information Specialist responsible for ensuring that DGGS data products are easily shared and integrated with various sources. With over 20 years of experience in FGDC Metadata standards, she compiles metadata files and oversees digital data releases. Additionally, she manages the division's field safety equipment inventory and serves on the DGGS Field Operations Safety Committee, promoting a culture of safety in field operations.

- Metadata: Simone has over 15 years of experience compiling metadata files for the division, following FGDC standards.
- Publications: She oversees various tasks for publishing geologic reports, such as providing content, managing workflows, facilitating communication between geologists and technical staff, compiling GIS data, drafting field observations, organizing analytical data, and ensuring data integrity.
- Geologic Information: Simone handles requests for geologic information from customers, leveraging her knowledge of Alaska's geology and geography. She ensures accessibility of information for those who cannot use online resources.
- Field Safety and Communication Equipment: As the field equipment cache manager, Simone maintains a comprehensive inventory of safety and communication gear for geologic fieldwork, ensuring availability and compliance with policies.
- Archiving and Data Preservation: Simone serves as the agency's librarian and archivist at the DGGS Fairbanks office, where she oversees a repository of geologic research materials, including reports, journals, and unpublished works.
