Description:
Paraglacial rock slope destabilization, Grewingk Glacier and Lake, Alaska. The proposed work includes conducting an airborne lidar survey of the Grewingk Glacier in Southcentral Alaska, and providing a weather station for monitoring local precipitation, temperature, snowpack and other data. This study will help mitigate an urgent safety hazard and improve our understanding of warming-induced slope failures worldwide. Funding provided by Aachen University via DFG (German Research Foundation).
