• Description:

  DGGS proposes to conduct snow avalanche mapping and analysis in the MOA. This project, requested by the community, will use high-quality data, modern snow avalanche modeling techniques, and regionally developed approaches to update snow avalanche indication maps and assess potential future changes in avalanches within the MOA. This project will collect and process lidar data from selected areas, use downscaled climate model reanalysis and projections to drive avalanche modeling to simulate modern and future avalanche dynamics, and develop indication maps of avalanche hazards.
