Ian is the Warehouse Manager for the Alaska Volcano Observatory, where he is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and the coordination of field logistics such as gear preparation, packing, and organizing backhaul. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and previously worked in Seattle at Microsoft on the Surface product line. After leaving the tech industry, he worked as a wilderness guide in Alaska and logistics specialist in Antarctica. Outside of work, Ian enjoys getting out in the mountains in anyway he can, from packrafting and mountain biking to climbing and skiing.
