Kelsey created maps and restored rivers with U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. At the University of Alaska Fairbanks, she taught with the Department of Natural Resources & Environment. She is also a ceramicist, and sculpted a clay irrigation system at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
