Projects and/or Research Interests

In the Energy Resources Section at the DGGS, I am involved in publishing geological maps and reports, acquiring digital field-based data using drones, carrying out surface and subsurface structural interpretation and modeling and geodatabase management. Also, I am involved in the Alaska Railbelt Carbon Capture & Storage (ARCCS) project in the Cook Inlet Basin with an interest in understanding the reservoir/containment for CCUS and seal integrity. In addition, I am working on alternative energy resources in the State of Alaska such as Geothermal and Hydrogen.

My background is primarily in structural geology, neotectonics, geospatial analysis, and remote sensing. I have conducted fieldwork in the foreland fold-thrust belts in the western Himalayas and the Cretaceous foreland basin in northern Alaska. In addition to fieldwork, I specialized in using remote sensing for geological mapping and tectonic deformation. I have experience in subsurface geologic mapping and prospect analysis in the Gulf of Mexico and the Flemish Pass Basin (East Coast Canada).
